Because we are Christians

William Trost Richards. Seascape with Distant Lighthouse, 1873.

We are not Christians because we lead a Christian life, but we lead a Christian life because we are Christians.

Justification has declared the believer to be righteous, though it has not made him righteous at all. The birth of a child does not make the child grow, but it places the child in an atmosphere where the child may now grow.
