Lord, Thou Hast Been Our Dwelling Place In All Generations

Albert Bierstadt. Virgin.

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Allow us, therefore, in this hour to come in to thy Holy presence, before thy majesty, recognizing the many faults and wrong with which we have provoked thee. Let us pray to Him that He may etch the fear of His majesty upon our minds and make us sharers in those things that we have learned in His Word, that by His strength He may support our weakness and may make us victors by the power of His Spirit and provide sufficient strength for us to withstand any temptations and to run the whole course of our lives in obedience to Him, giving thanks to Him for His many and great benefits to us. Let all of our senses be lifted up in worshiping Him to His everlasting praise and glory and may we be led in the pathway of salvation, not for our own advantage but for the building up of our neighbors. Grant then, by Thy many blessings, that we may be lifted up and come to Thy true glory, that we may worship Thee in pure simplicity, and wholly surrender ourselves to Thee. May thy Holy Spirit help us to seek thee, to know thee, to draw us nigh unto thee, that there, we may forever abide in thee. And may we be more and more be kindled to seek after righteousness and strive to glorify Thy name on earth at the last coming to that blessed glory prepared for us in heaven by Christ our Lord. Amen.
